The Unsung Story of the Women from India's First Family of Music

Gingger Shankar is a singer, composer and the only woman in the world to play the Double Violin. She guested on Katy Perry's last album, has toured with the Smashing Pumpkins, debuted as a soprano in the opera ‘Ainadamar’ in Carnegie Hall and composed music for the 'Passion of the Christ' and Sundance Award-Winner ‘Circumstance’. She has been touring her upcoming electro-pop record 'Beautiful Imperfections' which features co-writes by Linda Perry (Christina Aguilera) and is currently working on ‘Heartbeats’ directed by Duane Adler with Jay-Z and Roc Nation. 


Loren Schneider was born and raised on a cattle ranch in Northern California. Loren made his way south to San Francisco for education, art, and adventure.  After growing tired of education, art and adventure he moved farther south to Los Angeles for a career in the film industry.  He currently works for Fox Searchlight Pictures. SecretlyLoren wants to be an actor.

Nicholas Bruckman founded People's Television in 2010. He produced VALLEY OF SAINTS, which won the Audience Award at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and directed LA AMERICANA, which won various awards, broadcast worldwide on National Geographic and was used nationwide in U.S. immigration reform advocacy.

Pirashanna Thevarajah was discovered by Ravi Shankar in London at a very early age and performed with him, as well as many top Indian Artists. He is one of the few young percussionists to have a command of various Indian instruments such as the Mridangam, Kanjira, Ghatam, Morsing and Konnakol (Indian spoken rhythm).
